Its A Cruel Cruel Summer

Well i was just checking out some blogs, and in the process of reading Kim's new blog, I realized i hadn't post in over a month. Now i've come to terms with the fact i've been pretty lazy, but that was a slap in the face. So i've decided its time to bare down and type out a post.

Its been a crazy month, so i might as well start from the top and work my way down. First off, i went on a trip to Georg-y to see my grandpa. He just recently moved south of atlanta to a itty bitty old town called locust grove. He had a b-e-a-utiful house, with farm land all around, but i guess technically in the suburbs. We went to Stone Mountain (which wasn't as tall as i remembered), played 16 holes of golf (which included a shot 200 hundred yards from the hole with a three wood that i place 5 feet from the hole, and then sunk the birdie putt) until we were rained out by the first rain in three weeks (i felt as though i were in an Alanis Morrisette song), and went to a really cool aviation museum.

After that things slowed down considerably, and to my delight we started having weekly practices for xc (i say delight because i now had someone to run with). Then at the end of july, V im'd me with the prospect of he and i and a bunch of our friends going to see Dark Knight and making a day of it. So we all tagged together, and after an afternoon filled with countless fun endeavors (including teaching V how to properly throw a baseball and then hit one), we saw the movie. All i can say is OMFG. Thats it. No more, that about sums it up.

And this past weekend i took a trip to tampa, over to the east coast, for one last vacation before the summers end. My family and i stayed at a holiday inn right on Clearwater Beach, and our room had a breathtaking balcony view of the sunset on the gulf. On monday we went to Busch Gardens to top it all off. I got to ride all the coasters (including the Montu twice), but i must say that i found the Sheikra a tad dissapointing. The whole ride was basically the drop at the beginning, and then one more little drop in the middle, for a 20 second ride that left you wondering why you just waited an hour in 95 degree Florida heat. Montu was definitely the best ride, while the Gwazi was a close second. I even took the safari ride, which was increible. Today we finally got home, and i will say that even though vacations are fun, there is nothing better than being back home.

Nothing much else to report on, other than the fact that i finally started The Scarlett Letter today and got 50 pages in. I have to say that it isn't as dreadful as i had previously prejudiced it to be. Not that its a nail-biter can't put it down sorta book, but i can read it without falling asleep.

Au revior my blog readers.
